Join Xiao Qing on a stamp rally adventure as she embarks on a special delivery mission inspired by the Legend of Madame White Snake. Visit key locations of Chinese Gardens and collect landmark stamps as the story unfolds. Grand Arch
At the main entrance of the Chinese Garden, Xiao Qing comes face-to-face with the Grand Arch. Above her, the words “乾坤清气” (qián kūn qīng qì) — meaning “the pure energy of Heaven and Earth” — catch her eye. She pauses to admire the magnificent structure, inspired by the northern Chinese imperial architecture.
But Xiao Qing has a mission to complete. She keeps an eye out for Xu Xian and Bai Su Zhen as she takes in the lion dances and Mid-Autumn Festival exhibition around her. Yet, there is no sign of the pair.
“Looks like I’ll have to keep looking!” Xiao Qing says, hurrying off in search of them.
Bonsai Garden
At the Bonsai Garden, Xiao Qing is greeted by two marble lions, symbols of authority and happiness. As she makes her way through the zigzag corridors, she takes in the bonsai collection from across Asia, spread across 5,800 sqm. For a moment, it feels as though she has been whisked away to a Suzhou-style bonsai garden.
Xiao Qing looks around for Xu Xian and Bai Su Zhen. With so many visitors dressed in hanfu, she finds herself doing a double take every now and then — only to realise it isn’t them.
Still no Xu Xian. Still no Bai Su Zhen. Xiao Qing presses on with her search.
Stoneboat
A sense of calm washes over Xiao Qing as she reaches the Stoneboat. With its pavilion-like silhouette and ornate timber details, the Stoneboat makes her feel as though she has stepped aboard a boat floating gently on the water. Its design is a distinctive feature of traditional Peking architecture.
Xiao Qing takes in the peaceful view and has a thought.
“You know… this would be a pretty perfect place for a proposal. I wonder when Xu Xian is going to propose to Bai Su Zhen…”
She catches herself daydreaming. “Focus, Xiao Qing. You have a delivery to make.”
Did you know? The Stoneboat once housed a branch of the Registry of Marriages from 1982 to 1984!
Well, if Xu Xian and Bai Su Zhen are looking for romance, they certainly aren’t here. Xiao Qing hurries on, hoping to cross paths with them elsewhere.
Twin Pagoda
The Twin Pagodas — the Cloud Draping Tower and the Moon Receiving Tower — catch Xiao Qing’s attention. She climbs all three levels of both towers, keeping an eye out for Xu Xian and Bai Su Zhen along the way.
As she takes a closer look, she notices their resemblance to the Spring and Autumn Pavilions overseas. The pair also reminds her of the yin-yang principle — two contrasting forms coming together in harmony.
There are plenty of visitors around, but still no sign of Xu Xian and Bai Su Zhen. Xiao Qing isn’t giving up just yet. She continues her search.

Answer: The broader tower represents yang, while the slender tower represents yin.
Cloud Pagoda
From afar, the Cloud Pagoda catches Xiao Qing’s eye. The seven-storey, hexagonal pagoda immediately reminds her of the Linggu Temple Pagoda in Nanjing.
“I wonder if I could see all of Jurong from the top?” she wonders aloud. (Did you know? You can!)
But Xiao Qing has little time to admire the view. As she heads towards the Pagoda Plaza, she suddenly spots a familiar face.
“Xu Xian! There you are! Quick — take this!” she calls, handing him the gift. “Thank you, Xiao Qing! You’re a lifesaver!” Xu Xian says with a grateful smile.
Just then, Bai Su Zhen approaches. Xiao Qing quickly slips into the crowd, leaving the couple to their date. Against the Cloud Pagoda and beneath the moonlight, Xu Xian finally presents Bai Su Zhen with the gift.
Mission accomplished. Xiao Qing smiles to herself and quietly heads off to enjoy the festivities — and, perhaps, to let the happy couple enjoy the rest of their evening in peace.
