Friends of the Museums (FOM) Singapore is a Singapore-registered society promoting Asian art, history and culture. FOM was incorporated in 1978 and has close to 2000 members of 56 nationalities. The Museum Volunteers (MV) is a group of English volunteer guides. MV provides free weekend public tours in English at various National Heritage Board museums and heritage institutions in Singapore. MV also supports NHB programs including Heritage Trails, Singapore Biennale and the training of new guides for Singapore's very first Community Gallery. The Mandarin Docents (MD) is a group of Mandarin volunteer guides. MD provides free weekend public tours in Mandarin at various National Heritage Board museums and heritage institutions in Singapore. In conjunction with NHB’s heritage activities, MD has enabled more Chinese speaking visitors to learn more about the history, culture, and heritage of Singapore.
