This year’s River Hongbao exhibition – “Prosperity in Packets: Hongbao in Chinese Culture” – traces the history and significance of the Chinese custom of giving and receiving red packets during the Lunar New Year and other auspicious occasions. Through a curated selection of red packets, the exhibition also explores the evolving aesthetics and design of red packets over time. This exhibition is co-curated with students from Singapore Chinese Girls’ School and Lianhe Zaobao Student Correspondents’ Club.

Exhibition will be available at The Float @ Marina Bay from 23 January to 1 February 2020.
