During the Duan Wu Festival, ai cao (艾草), or Chinese mugwort is traditionally used for its protective and healing properties, believed to ward off evil spirits and promote good health. Known for its numerous health benefits, it has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, and promote relaxation. Don’t miss the chance to create your very own Chinese Mugwort Massage Hammer at our Drop-in Craft Station!

Wan Qing Yuan: A Journey Through History and Heritage – Travelling Exhibition

Did you know that Wan Qing Yuan was originally known as the Bin Chan House? Or did you know that the villa once served as the residence of prominent local figures and has witnessed significant historical events? This exhibition offers an opportunity to explore Wan Qing Yuan's role in history and its place within the broader context of the Balestier precinct's heritage. Visitors can also walk away with a multi-layered stamp print postcard of Wan Qing Yuan that they can create themselves!

Let’s Celebrate with Uncle Ting: Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival which falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month is an important festival for Chinese communities around the world. It is also known as the Duan Wu ("double fifth") Festival in Mandarin.

Discover the rich traditions of one of the most celebrated Chinese festivals through Dragon Boat Festival: of Thumping Drumbeats and Delicious Rice Dumplings. This vibrant travelling exhibition explores the myths, legends, and customs of the Dragon Boat Festival, offering insights into the origins and evolution of dragon boat racing in Singapore, and explore the diverse varieties of rice dumplings enjoyed during the festival in this travelling exhibition.
