The well-known photography collection of Lee Brothers Studio on Hill Street provides a priceless record of the people of Singapore before WWII.
Less known are the stories of the first generation Lee brothers – Lee Tat Loon, Lee Tit Loon and Lee Shui Loon from Foshan, Guangdong province and the early photography studios such as Quan Hing, Tien Seng, Koon Sun and Yong Fong that they established in late 19th century Singapore.
This talk will focus on the history of this family of enterprising photographers, with a special highlight on Lee Shui Loon, and the studios the family set up in Singapore and the region.
Conducted in English. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration required.
